My Story

I have a passion for ensuring that all individuals are given what they need to thrive, which looks different for each child. As a junior high student I became part of the “Circle of Friends” for children with special needs, which included being friends with and assisting people with Down syndrome and other developmental delays during their school day.

Little did I know that a seemingly simple short-term commitment would turn into a lifelong endeavor. I began tutoring children with autism and my first job as a speech therapist was working with non-speaking students on the autistic spectrum implementing the Strategies for Teaching Based on Autism Research (STAR) Program.

I have skills in the following areas: utilization of high tech speaking devices, the Hanen “More Than Words” Program, feeding/swallowing therapy, articulation, voice and stuttering therapy. Being able to love and serve families and children with their struggles and ease their burdens is my mission as a speech language pathologist.
